Environment NC is a blog and web site hosted by the John Locke Foundation, a non-profit public policy think tank in North Carolina. Environment NC provides a central location for citizens, policymakers and researchers to gather information and insight about timely environmental issues facing North Carolina.

Contributors to Environment NC have advanced degrees and expertise in areas such as science, public policy, economics, and the law. We share a common belief that environmental and resource management policy too often lacks a basis in sound science or economics and simply serves to further the agenda of ideologues.

Through this web site, Environment NC will become a unique “one-stop shop” for individuals who are seeking sound analysis of environmental issues. If North Carolina is going to address properly its environmental concerns, there needs to be an honest and open discourse on the issues. The purpose of Environment NC is to be a voice for sound science, economic prosperity, and individual liberty in the greater debate over environmental policy. These are perspectives that are often lacking.
